Welcome to Disney Discovered! Happy 2024! We’ve been on a (long) break since we’ve been busy with school, but we’re back with a new post. 😀
Today, we are talking about Rainbow Reef at Aulani. I did Rainbow Reef with my dad. It was fun!
Prepared: Before you enter Rainbow Reef, go to the Rainbow Reef Rentals. A cast member will ask if you want to upgrade your Rainbow Reef pass, (if you haven’t gone) so you can go every day. (I’d recommend that you should go do Rainbow Reef first before you upgrade your pass.) They’ll give you a stamp on your pool band (which you will get near the water play structure). Then, they will hand you a snorkel and a life vest. To blow up your vest press your mouth down on the black tube and blow air into it.

Ready: Once you got the life vest on, the cast member will tell you to take a little rinse. If you haven’t done Rainbow Reef, listen to the directions.
Rainbow Reef tips: Don’t put your head fully underwater. Water will get in the air tube. Just look down and DON’T breathe through your nose. Enjoy the fish! Also, the water. Don’t touch the fish, and you shouldn’t touch the coral because you might get hurt.
Hidden Mickeys: There are always Hidden Mickeys somewhere! I wonder … Oh! A hidden Mickey! It’s grate, but in the form of Mickey! (Look at the right side of the photo.) There’s another!

There might be a bubble shaped Hidden Mickey, but the last time we didn’t see them.
Fish: Rainbow Reef is filled with fish.

Like, take for example: Humuhumunukunukuapua’a. But in English it’s Picasso Triggerfish. There are many types of fish – maybe you can recognize one!
That’s all for this post. See you next time on Disney Discovered! 🙂
